This past weekend I had the opportunity to work the Future Vision Unplugged, and Sebastian’s Look and Learn, it was amazing!  I had the opportunity to work with amazing artist’s:  Nick Berardi, Alexandra Matiz,  Diva Poulos, Christina McCarver, and Anthony Cole.  The show was so inspiring, if you are a hairdresser and you are interested in continuing education, this is a great way to learn something new and get inspired!

For those of you who did not know of Alexander McQueen while he was alive, please let me tell you about this amazing designer.

Alexander McQueen was the youngest of six children.  He was trained tailoring in Savile Row, and in 1994 Mcqueen enrolled in London’s Central Saint Martins fashion school. In 1996 he was named head designer at Givenchy, before joing with Gucci.  During his career he won many accolades, including being names International Designer of the Year.  He was also name British Designer of the year four times between 1996 and 2003.

Alexander was know for his exquisite, couture-quality gowns and over the top theatrical fashion presentations, with fashionable stars such as Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Katie Holmes often wearing his clothes on the red carpet.

Mcqueen was expexted to present his lastest collection in Fashion Week in Paris on March 9, and McQ at New York Fashion Week on Thursday afternoon, but the event was canceled.  To our dismay, McQueen’s death was announced on February 11, 2010.
